If you want to get close to the action but choose not to compete, why not get involved in on event servicing, making a real difference in getting the cars to the finish of events. The service crew are usually the ‘un-sung’ heroes of a rally team! If you have an interest in motorsport and want to get involved without any expense Servicing is ideal. Mechanical knowledge is obviously beneficial but by no means essential, with good attitude towards learning and ‘getting involved’ it won’t be long before the art of servicing is quickly learned. Duties as part of a rally service team include:
 
BASIC CAR PREPARATION & CHECKS
-    Fuelling.
-    Levels.
-    Tyre Pressures.
-    Wheel changing
-    Clearing loose debris.
-    Cleaning windows.
-    Being a master of ‘Gaffer’ tape and tie wraps!
 
MECHANICAL PREPARTION AND CHECKS
-    Spanner check on key areas.
-    Changing broken or damaged parts.
-    Carrying out basic fix of damaged parts.
-    And anything possible in a service window
 
DRIVING NAVIGATION & PLANNING
-    Drive the chase service vehicle to remote service locations
-    Navigate the chase service vehicle
-    Plan and organise the service schedule.
