The Clun Run, named after our home village’s Anglo Saxon name, is a Touring Assembly for classic and interesting 4 wheeled motor vehicles. The Run will take place over the interesting but not overly demanding roads of North East Derbyshire and the Dukeries.

Starting at 9:30am from the Clowne Town Cricket Club just off the B6417 Mansfield Road, Clowne (Map ref 120, 492759), the 70 mile route of the Run will this year head out through the villages, hamlets and stately homes of the area. We will be stopping off half way for a break before returning back to the start, where the vehicles will be placed on static display along with other motor sport and motoring exhibits. At the finish there will be a licensed bar and food and refreshments will be available and we are hoping to host a combined emergency services display.

The route will be defined by a road book of simple descriptive directions so that no one’s navigational skills will be put to too much of a test. If you are new to this type of activity, do not let the navigation put you off as club members will be about at the start of the event to give you help and guidance.

Entry for the Run is only £15 and includes a buffet lunch for the driver and one passenger, and a memento of the event. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Air Ambulance Service.

The Run is open to any classic or interesting 4 wheeled vehicle and we have already had interest from vehicles as varied as an E Type, an Alfa Montreal, a TR7 V8, a Lotus Elan, a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and a Volvo 340.
